I took some photos through the same window and from inside of the back wall but it was a sunny day and the light was heavily dappled and contrasty so I don't think they're much use as a comparison. I went up today to see if I could spot any patterns in the wall that could lead to a pareidolia effect but I didn't see any. So this is fascinating to me because it's in my town. I think about it from time to time, it had that profound of an effect on me. I wish I could see that photo again and look at it one more time. Our teacher’s friend then passed around the photo negative and the civil war man was present there as well.

He was opaque and almost looked like he was made of smoke, however he was defined. He passed the photo around the classroom and you could clearly see a very definitive outline of a man in civil war fatigues sitting with his back against the wall. I guess he photographed different parts of the battlefield as part of his hobby. The most most peculiar item was a picture he had taken of a rock wall at Gettysburg (our town is located about 30 miles east of Gettysburg).
